Although it may not be top of most people's must-visit list, Bulgaria has plenty to offer the curious traveller. Since the fall of communism, the country has been on a rollercoaster of social and economic change. The interior of Bulgaria is mainly hills and mountains, but it is the historic Black Sea coast that attracts most visitors to this fascinating country. The port of Nessebur, with its beautiful old town and 13th and 14th century churches is the focus of our visit. A settlement has been on this site since the time of the Greeks and Romans, and today Nessebur is a World Heritage Site.
