Months we visit: May, August, September

Bordering Greece and Macedonia and only a short distance away from Italy across the Adriatic, the land of Albania was long under the influence of Roman and Hellenic powers throughout antiquity. You will explore this ancient history at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Butrint. This city is full of fascinating ancient monuments, whilst also boasting a wide variety of historical sites from the Middles Ages, Renaissance and beyond; testament to the region’s Byzantine, Slavic, Ottoman and Venetian periods of occupation.
