Passports are required for all Voyages to Antiquity cruises and must be valid for a minimum of six months after the last day of your journey. We strongly recommend that a minimum of four blank pages be available for any visa stamps that may be required.
For cruises that visit Arab countries, any passenger with a passport that contains an Israeli visa or stamp issued at an Israeli border crossing must obtain a new passport before traveling as disembarkation is otherwise not allowed.
The following information was correct at the time of printing but is subject to change at any time. All guests are reminded to check the latest requirements via their government’s Foreign Services/State Department website. Guests whose nationalities are not mentioned below must contact the consulates of each country to be visited on their cruise itinerary to determine exact requirements, especially as relates to Middle Eastern ports of call.
No visas are currently required for US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand passport holders visiting Italy, Croatia, Greece, Malta, Georgia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Cyprus.
Russia Group visas are obtained by the ship on arrival in Sochi. The cost of this visa is included in your cruise fare. However, passengers wishing to go ashore outside of our group arrangements will need their own individual visa.
Turkey does require an individual entry visa for US, UK, Canada and Australia passport holders arriving by air. New Zealand passport holders are not currently required to purchase an arrival visa. Approximate cost of the visa, which is obtained at the airport on arrival, is US$20 (£10 for UK passport holders; US$60 for Canadians). The visa must be paid in cash, and GBP, USD, and EUR are accepted. When arriving to Turkey by sea on board the Aegean Odyssey, Voyages to Antiquity will obtain the visa on your behalf and add the cost to your onboard account.
Tunisia requires visas for Australia and New Zealand passport holders, which are obtained by the ship on arrival at the first Tunisian port of call. The cost of this visa is approximately US$30 which will be added to the guest’s onboard account.
Albania and Lebanon Group visas are obtained by the ship on arrival for US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand passport holders. The cost of this visa is included in your cruise fare.
Syria Group visas are obtained by the ship on arrival only for UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand passport holders. The cost of this visa is included in your cruise fare. US passport holders are required to obtain an individual visa prior to trip departure. Information on how to obtain this visa is provided in the Pre-Cruise Documentation.
Libya Group visas are obtained by the ship on arrival for US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand passport holders. The cost of this visa is included in your cruise fare.
Egypt does require an individual entry visa for US, UK, Canada and Australia passport holders arriving by air. New Zealand passport holders are not currently required to purchase an arrival visa. Approximate cost of the visa, which is obtained at the airport on arrival, is US$16. The visa must be paid in cash, and GBP, USD, and EUR are accepted. When arriving to Egypt by sea on board the Aegean Odyssey, Voyages to Antiquity will obtain the visa on your behalf and add the cost to your onboard account.
Jordan Group visas are obtained on arrival by Voyages to Antiquity representatives on behalf of all guests using Voyages to Antiquity air arrangements. Guests with independent air arrangements are required to purchase a visa at a cost of JOD 10 (US $15, GBP £8). The visa must be paid in cash with JOD. Currency exchange is available in the arrival terminals.

Voyages to Antiquity requires all guests to provide full passport details, including addresses and next of kin information prior to issuance of final Cruise documentation and airline tickets. The personal information is only passed on as required to our air providers, in accordance with government regulations, port authorities, and other suppliers of your travel arrangements for the purposes of customs, visas, and immigration clearances.
Requirements for nationalities not mentioned in the above visa requirements can be obtained directly from the consulates of the countries to be visited on the specific cruise and land program selected. It is each guest's responsibility to have the required documentation prior to travel. Failure to produce the required documentation at embarkation may result in denied board and expenses incurred as a result are not the responsibility of Voyages to Antiquity.
