Venice to Rome

Of all the countries of the Mediterranean, Italy is perhaps the most alluring: its art, architecture, history and, of course, food have seduced travelers for centuries. This journey will take you to the gems of Italy: from the dazzling splendor of Byzantine Venice (including a private visit to St Mark's) and the architectural treasures of Sicily including Monreale Cathedral, to the evocative ruins of Pompeii and the architectural legacy of Imperial Rome. You will also enjoy outstanding natural beauty as you cruise along the Dalmatian Coast and through the stunning islands of Korcula and Hvar. Another highlight is the port of Dubrovnik once described by George Bernard Shaw as “Paradise on Earth” - the warmth of Dubrovnik’s people and its wonderful monuments including the 16th century Sponza Palace enchant the visitor.
